When I browsed my hardisk, I realized how bias I am. I rarely have solo pic of other KT members except kame *sweat*. That's why I have to make do with my limited collection of junno's solo pics...*sheepish*. Forgive me Junnooooooooooo................*kneeling down*

This Gokusen the movie kind of repo is for nofsummer (my partner in crime), di_diya (whom I promised a shiny repo to) and sabilhanson (who survived my and nofsummer's boringness).


Gokusen the movie.....Let's just say that it will never win any oscar, lol. I dont think I can claim myself to be a Gokusen fan. So far, the only Gokusen series that I have managed to finish was Gokusen 2. The reason: Odagiri Ryuu. Before you accuse me of being kame's bias, I had yet to become a kame's fan when I watched Gokusen 2 (It was half a year later until I fell into the abyss of JE sparkly ghei world). So I didnt expect much in terms of storyline (besides since when do we watch gokusen for the story? lol). This does not necessarily imply that the movie is bad. As the target of the movie is to give you an entertainment, I would say the franchise (including the movie) has done extremely well. Besides, I have seen more banal movie being sprouted by japanese film industry (dragon head *shudder* romeo and juliet *shudder*), so yeah...ahum...

I wont spoil the storyline. In a gist, the movie has it all: comedy, angst, friendship and the good old "creepy" moments which are uniquely Gokusen. I laughed at some parts. Never quite cried in any parts (because there was no reason to cry really, lol). In the end I came out from the theater feeling satisfied, tho not exactly feeling enlightened, the kind that make you want to change the world for the better or to ponder about life. In overall, it's a feel good movie. You will sleep soundly even after watching it.

I just have to applaud NAKAMA YUKIE, because Gokusen the movie is indeed her movie. That cant even be argued. Yes, kame has more screen time compared to other supporting casts, but through and through the movie belongs to Yankumi and Yankumi only. You can feel how much the supporting casts retreat to give more room for yankumi to shine (not like she will have a problem in doing that). And I am happy with the arrangement because Nakama Yukie deserved to be lauded for her efforts in shouldering the success of this franchise for friggin' seven years. There will be no other actress who could do justice to her role as Yankumi. She managed to recite even the most cringe-worthy lines with such grace and conviction that you cant help just to believe. Her presence fills the scenes and elevates the otherwise crappy movie into something watchable. Yankumi, indeed, will always be hers.

Having said that, please let me flail about Odagiri Ryuu. Because as much as I respect Nakama Yukie as an actress, I would never fly to Singapore just to watch her movie. That kind of privilege belongs only to a certain turtle that I keep close to my heart: KAMENASHI KAZUYA. In a way, I am happy that kame took the role of Odagiri Ryuu again. This will be a sweet closure and also probably be his expression of gratitude to the franchise that has helped him shot to fame and earned him his first recognition in acting by winning the most coveted Japanese TV Academy Award for his role as Odagiri Ryuu. Yet, I have a mixed feeling about the movie Ryuu. Yes, the current Ryuu is sinfully hot that I wonder whether it's a good idea to have such teacher in a boys only school. The students might all turn ghei, you know *shot*. Yes, he is still Ryuu that we know who has the same curtness, half smile and cool but cold gesture. He is still Ryuu that actually cares but keep people at an arms length (tho not as bad as the old Ryuu) and his darkest secret at the corner of his heart. However, at the same time he is not Ryuu that we all know. He's older. No longer has auburn hair. No longer his old half-starved waif. He now has some soft edges to his character. More mature, adult like. He is Ryuu but at the same he's not. He is not Ryuu but at the same time he is. It's like meeting your old friend (or flame?, hihi) and see how much he has changed. It made me sad but at the same time happy too, because I was lucky enough to see a grown up Ryuu who never failed to steal my heart. The only other thing that made me sad also, kame looks tired in many of the scenes. This.made.my.heart.hurt. *hugs my boy*. I hope someday he could own his own movie with great storyline worthy of his hardwork. I am wishing so hard that he will get great acting projects in the future. Because I have never stop believing that he has the potential to be a great actor. He just needs practice and more experience to hone his skills. I really really hope that someday this could happen.

I managed to watch Gokusen the Movie twice. Once on Saturday after saying goodbye to my parents at Changi airport and once the day after. On a whim, me and nofsummer decided to watch the 9 pm movie on Saturday. But it was sold out. So we had to watch the next show at 11.35 pm. We thought the theater wouldnt be packed, but surprisingly even the 11 pm show was packed. I mean really really packed. None of the seats was empty. We were quite surprised because we never expected that Gokusen will be THAT popular in Singapore. Another surprise was many of the audience were male. I was forever humbled for unconsciously underestimating the power of Gokusen franchise ><;

Maybe because of many almost sleepless nights (which I blame nofsummer for inducing me to flail with her, hehe), I dozed off during several scenes when I watched the movie for the second time the day after. Strangely though, I never failed to wake up to each and every scene of kame. Maybe I am connected with red thread to kame? hohohohoho *bricked* But all the whirlwind of the journey was worthwhile, because Odagiri Sensei is indeed HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT. Hahaha.

Baseball always do him good. This is the kame that I love the most. Giddy with happiness like a child for the love of his favorite sport. I cant wait for the JE baseball match in December. He should really consider ditching JE for Baseball. Imagine....no headache of yarakashi in that world. Oh well, maybe in another life...sigh....Also that pic of him with a mother and her child is pure gold.....*ovaries explode* But he looks so much thinner...where all the fat goes? So here I am. Arrived at 1 am in the morning, thot that i woke nofsummer (tho apparently like kame she didnt need to sleep), and slept at 5 am because me and nofsummer just have to flail even though both of us that dead tired.

My conversation with my boss before I went:
me: I am going to singapore directly from my mission
boss: oh you have something to do?
me: yes, im meeting my parents watching gokusen
boss: oh great. Youre visiting them?
me: yeah, meeting them en-route of their trip to sydney watching gokusen

Okay first, Ive got new banner!!!!!! Thank you nofsummer *bear hug*. I am so sorry that it took you almost 30 minutes just to figure out on how to change my banner. But I.LOVE.MY.NEW.BANNER. So full of kame's goodness *squeals*.

Second, Ive pre-ordered my BTR DVD! Yippe! It's scary how I didnt even spend any second to think  when I clicked that bloody pre-order button. I didnt even look at the damn expensive price quoted. Good Lord, at this rate I might waste my pension plan to fatten Johnny up ><;. But...but...but.....I will HAVE MESELF an HQ of 1582. So who cares!!!!!!! I'll buy it even if it's 10,000 yen for the sake of that one perf. Tho Im a bit sad that theres no footage of member's corner (no murasaki! no hanasanaide ai! no seiten no heireki! *cries*). But I shoudnt complain. At least I managed to watch it live...I should just be grateful that WE'VE GOT our BTR DVD! YEAY!!!!!!!!!

As a small gift, here's a translation of May 2009 Oristar of kame's part!!!! (I finally did it...*tears*).

Disclaimer: I am neither a native nor an alien who is fluent in Japanese. I am still learning. So I vouch no guarantee that the whole translation is perfect. I might be missing certain subtleties here and there. Heck I might even screwed up the whole meaning in some parts, haha. Any critiques that could improve  the quality of this translation are welcomed. I also tried to be as less literal as possible to make the translation felt smoother. Oh, also please forgive any grammatical mistakes or typos. I am just a human being.

Notes: Things in bracket in purple are my notes/rants (because I cant help it, haha)

Q1: After this concert (domucon), what kind of hairstyle are you thinking of? (Kanagawa Prefecture, 15 years old female)
亀: For the time being, I want to grow it. Oh, it also depends on the job. It will also depend on the job that i might get in the future. (ever the professional kame-chan *proud*)

Q2: I heard that for this year, kame-chan solo will have japanese style image. Japanese style that I have beginning to frequently heard of, what kind of style is it? (I actually a bit stumbled at translating this part, but i guess the meaning is there) (Niigata Prefecture, 17 years old female)
亀: Kimono. Both the man and woman kimono. (very fitting explanation. I almost fainted watching ur solo, kame-chan. sigh...*dreamy*)

Q3: To KAT-TUN fans, what is the most important thing that you're trying to convey with your music? (Kanagawa Prefecture, 13 years old female)
亀: I think i might focus on the performance, In fact, there will be ballad, and there wll be a lot of lyrics about love. Also, the tune. The direction of the tune will be different. It's really up to you to interpret, however I hope it can be received well. I dont want to push on the things that I try to convey (I think what he meant here, he wants the fans to make their own interpretation and he didnt want to force his opinion or influence it)

Q4: With the exception of your own solo, what is your fave song in the album? (Tokyo Metropolitan Area, 15 years old female)
亀: Shunkashuuto/Four seasons (nouuuuuuuu!!!!). I like the world outlook in the lyrics of that song.

Q5: Are there any (music) genre that you would like to try in the future? Or otherwise to challenge music instruments? (Kyoto Metropolitan Area, 28 years old female)
亀: I want to do a cheerful kind of song. A bit playful kind of song.

亀: I am planning to do so. And also a small diet.

I really hope that the songs in this album will raise the feeling of live concert. The members early on are already in live mode. About my solo, since it concerns the tune of myself, well, I like something simple (what? simple?! 1582 is far from simple my dear).  This time, because I told them of  the image that I want to convey [I want to do this kind of song], among the candidates of the song, when I heard [1582], I have a feeling of "Let's do this one!". Although this song is a piece that is easily sung, I think for the live show I want it to be reasonably flashy (very true indeed kame. *nod nod*).

I know ghibli will never dissapoint me and Im happy to report that Gakue no Ponyo is such a wonderful movie. Gakue no Ponyo could be said as a ghibli version of mermaid fairytale. It has every ghibli's production signatures. Gorgeous animation, heartwarming characters and a bunch of mythical creatures. It's really a great family movie. Tho it's a bit creepy that 5 years old kid could grasp a meaning of love at such an early age but maybe it's just the cynic in me, hahaha.  But its major cute. The kind of cute that will make your heart swell and your teeth ache. No wonder kame is so smitten by this movie, fufu.

And StA! Kame in Pink! Yumm......I have always have a soft spot for StA. Maybe because NwP is the drama that started everything for me (tho I hate its lets-make-fangirls-happy ending ><;).

I notice how much slimmer kame is rite now *sad*. And his weight loss happened in a very short span of time which made me worried. All must be thanks to his crazy schedule. As much as Im happy for his appearance at 24th Jikan Terebi, it hurts me to see him never stop running around making appearance here and there. How I wish the Jimusho will just stop milking my baby dry. How I wish they will let kame have his well deserved rest (how i wish kame will stand up for himself and said: ENUF! I need rest!). I dont want to see him dying due to overwork. Owch kame, maybe i shd kidnap you, tied you to ur bed and feed you with lots and lots of food???!!! I want to say "gambare" for his DB perfs. But idk anymore. I just hope he could finish the whole show without any injuries. I think i will be extremely relieved when he finish his DB.  *pat kame*

Humans are cruel. That was my first thought after I finished watching District 9. We, humans, braced things that we dont know with a glass half full and a loaded gun. Which is prolly why racism is very much alive today and we even have names for them: anti-semite, islamophobia, xenophobia etc. Sometimes i feel that we have not improved much since the middle age. 

District 9 is a new sci-fi movie produced by Peter Jackson (in case u dont know him, he is the one who directed the blockbuster trilogy of LOTR). The movie is opened in a very sci-fi fashion with an alien spacecraft hovered and stopped above Johannesburg, South Africa. Inside the spaceship, a colony of severely malnourished alien was found. The colony then settled in what is called as district 9, a mixture of slum and refugee camp. The alien even got a degrading nickname: prawn. 28 years later,  A private military agent, Multinational United (MNU) is commissioned to undertake the relocation of the area. Told from the viewpoint of one MNU agent, Wikus van de Merwe, we then thrown into a spiraling action as Wikus' and the alien's life collide. 

It's been a while since a sci-fi movie made me think after i watched it (last time was . To say that District 9 is a pure sci-fi movie is gravely misleading. Yes, it has all the sci-fi movie signature: alien, spacecraft, advanced machinery and weapons. However, what set this movie different from other sci-fi fanfare is its premise and execution. The movie felt documentary-ish. If you swap the alien with war-torn refugees or any repressed minorities, then you might instead feel like ure watching a program in national geographic or discovery channel. The acting is superb with great characterization. There's only one character which is quite one dimensional. But the rest of the characters are gripping in their echo of human behavior. The lead character is extremely realistic in both his cowardice and bravery, and you cant help to root and chide him for his actions. And the ending is heartbreakingly good that I cant shake the image as easy as i wouldve wanted. In short, if you havent watched this movie, please do. It is such a GREAT movie.

Today i went to the gym only to be tortured by my personal trainer. One of the tool that she imposed on me was torso rotation. "for your curves" she nodded happily (while i grunted) which snapped me into thinking of kame's curves (yeah...my brain worked weirdly). In case you dont know what im talking about, please see exhibit A and B below for samples:

Thus here I am wondering how come kame has such curves that even a woman would envy. And I arrived at this conclusion. It all started with baseball. Uhuh, BASEBALL!!! Kame has started to play baseball since he was a kid. And as we all know in baseball you need to swing your hip/waist when you bat. Logically, after years of playing baseball and swinging his hips, his waist was slowly shaped nicely thanks to the sport. Then he went to join johnny and over the years he has less and less time for baseball. The end of evolution for his waist? Of course not! Because being a johnny means that he has to dance, hip sways etc which toned his waist even more. Heck, he even invented that  hip gyrating technique which is a danger for fangirls' brain. Do u still doubt that kame's waist is the result of years in the making?  Hah!

Oh well, I am obviously just trying to find an excuse for flailing over this:

And no, im not going to have lj cut on them. Because kame deserves all the love in the world and a pat on his back for all the hardwork that he has given us . For the crazy schedule that he has rite now, he has every right to be snappy or moody (if it's me ill already be on a plane to spain or timbuktu and taking an extremely long hiatus). He is welcome to be sulky anytime he wants because that's the only leniency that he could have rite now. Oh kame, please take care of your health!

Adachi-sama will start the continuation of cross game again today. I cant wait! Cross game is the first of his manga that I have been following chapter by chapter and it's a painful way to read a manga (especially his). In the past I have always waited until it reached a hundred chapter or so (because I hate to wait) before i started to read a manga. I know that adachi-sama is no longer young and with the release of his other new title he must've been very busy, but...but...please finish cross game without further break.....*puppy-eyed*

No...I'm not gonna talk about Mr. Brain ep. 3 rating...hah >.<  I'm just surprised that Mr. Brain ep. 5 rating which has Nakama Yukie in it dropped to 18.5 percent. Yes, it's not a massive drop. But..how come the episode with Sato Takeru fared better than the episode with Nakama Yukie (Im not saying that Sato Takeru is a bad actor here or that his episode didnt deserve the high rating). This is NAKAMA YUKIE! Not to mention KIMUTAKU+NAKAMA YUKIE! I was expecting the rating to shoot up significantly with such high profile cast. Please do tell me Japan.  Why???

Oh well....I think i will never understand whats going on behind this elusive number, ugh...-__-
